The Beginning[]
For hundreds of years the royal house of Garland ruled over the country of Urialyn, originally combining the quarreling petty kingdoms of the lands together under one flag through either diplomacy or war. Mostly war, as no king likes to give up their crown. The second to latest undisputed King, King Rannard the fourth, had several children. The two most important being: his eldest child Pina, his beloved daughter, titled by her peers as the Princess of Roses; and Niclar, his third eldest child and his oldest son. Being Rannard's favorite, Pina was named to be his heir, breaking Urialyn's Agnatic-Cognatic succession tradition.
This plan seemed to be what was going to happen right up until Rannard's death. Almost immediately, Niclar sprung his coup which is now known as, Niclar's Plot. Hours before her coronation, Pina and her sister, second eldest child of Rannar, Penelope were set upon by Niclar and his co-conspirators. Pina would barely escape with her life while Penelope was captured and their loyal knights killed to a man. Now Niclar the Opportunist claims to be the true king of the land with all other lords either in support of him or holding their tongue for fear of being destroyed.
The Present[]
Pina is on the run, only surviving due to the few loyalists around to hide and protect her. As a last ditch effort, she opens a portal to another world, Sheng, in hope of recruiting foreign assistance in her war against her brother.
The Future[]
As Pina recruits foreign invaders to their world, more of the petty kingdoms who were undecided in the conflict become more polarized. Loyalists finding that with this assistance they may rise up against The Opportunist King while others enraged by this action renew their allegiance to Niclar. At the same time due to the instability of the realm, non-human races begin to rise up against their oppressors. The lands of Oustomia and Sheng after all these years have stabalized, but for those who still have no name nor riches, Urialyn has many opportunities.
